Bio CoQ10 from PhytoCeutical Formulations is a highly bioavailable form of CoQ10
specifically compounded with esterified Vitamin E to cross the “blood-brain
barrier” more readily, eliciting neurological (brain and cognitive) and
cardiovascular benefits more efficiently and effectively than other forms of CoQ10.
CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant that is essential to the production of energy, or ATP,
in the mitochondria, the powerhouse of every cell in the human body. CoQ10 has been shown
to be of significant value in alleviating the effects of heart disease, high blood
pressure, migraine, cancer, aging, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis,
Parkinson’s disease and periodontal disease.
CoQ10 is a naturally-occuring compound found in every cell in the body. It's alternate
name, ubiquinone, comes from the word ubiquitous, which means "found everywhere." CoQ10
is found in many of the foods you eat every day including cold-water fish like mackerel,
salmon and tuna, as well as in some meats and vegetable oils. But these can only provide
a small portion of your body's daily requirement—it's virtually impossible to get
enough of this valuable nutrient through diet alone.
Additionally, CoQ10 levels are easily depleted by age, illness, stress, exercise,
certain prescription drugs... even thinking! Also, the use of statin drugs can cause the
depletion of CoQ10, which is necessary for proper heart function. Supplementing with
CoQ10 can help minimize the risk of statin-induced cardiac dysfunction, liver
dysfunction, muscle weakness, cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. Bio CoQ10, by
PhytoCeutical Formulations can help your body sustain an ample supply of CoQ10 necessary
for proper heart and brain function.
Not all CoQ10, however, is created equal. There are both natural and synthetic
varieties of the ingredient. Natural CoQ10 (trans-isomer) is preferred because it is
fermented and is identical to our body’s own CoQ10 and is therefore better
assimilated. Research studies on the health benefits of CoQ10, including the
Parkinson’s disease studies, have been conducted with the trans-isomer form.
Synthetic CoQ10 (CIS form) is chemically processed using tobacco, and while cheaper, is
considered to be impure and difficult to absorb.
PhytoCeutical Formulations offers a premium line of CoQ10 chewables, formulated with
100% natural (trans-isomer), pharmaceutical grade, non-GMO Q10. Compounded with the
esterified form of Vitamin E alpha tocopheryl succinate, Bio CoQ10 is highly
bioavailable, with increased stability and permeability, providing benefit to tissues
that are otherwise not readily accessible. Bio CoQ10 by PhytoCeutical Formulations is
manufactured according to international pharmaceutical GMP standards.
The Evidence for CoQ10:
Studies have shown CoQ10 to be a safe and natural way to deliver a significant boost
to your heart health, energy, and immune system function.
Heart failure -- People with heart failure have been found to have lower levels of
CoQ10 in heart muscle cells.
Cardiomyopathy -- Several small trials have found CoQ10 may be helpful for certain
types of cardiomyopathy.
Parkinson's Disease -- Lower levels of CoQ10 have also been observed in people with
Parkinson's disease. Research has found that increasing CoQ10 may increase levels of the
neurotransmitter dopamine, which is thought to be lowered in people with Parkinson's
disease. A small, randomized controlled trial examined the use of 360 mg CoQ10 or placebo
in 28 treated and stable Parkinson's disease patients. After 4 weeks, Supplemental CoQ10
has been shown to provide improvement in symptoms and significantly improved performance
in visual function. Additional studies suggest that supplemental CoQ10, especially at the
1200 mg/day dose, may slow disease progression.
Statin Drugs CoQ10 Depletion -- Research suggests that statin drugs, or HMG-CoA reductase
inhibitors, a class of drugs used to lower cholesterol, may interfere with the body's
production of CoQ10. Supplemental use of CoQ10 in people taking statins may counteract
this depletion and the potential harm it may cause.
Diabetes -- Clinical trails have shown CoQ10 supplementation significantly improved
blood pressure and glycemic control in diabetics.
Gum Disease -- Studies have shown the topical application of CoQ10 to the periodontal
pocket have significantly improved symptoms of gum disease.
